Happy Birthday, Rachel!

Ever since we've moved and parted ways here (different universities), my best friends have always made it a point to meet up at least once each month despite our hectic schedules. This time, it was for Rachel's birthday lunch which was all the way in Yakimix, Makati (a good 45-minute drive from our university in Katipunan).

We headed out early at 10 a.m. just in case we got lost along the way.
Rei (whose university is all the way in Mendiola) met up with us at Katipunan. He was our designated navigator for the trip...supposedly.
...if he had paid more attention to the road than to Tiny Wings on my iPod.
We drove by this really sketchy-looking burger joint.

We arrived at Yakimix two hours later (thanks to our rotten navigational skills) where we met KC and Maha (Assumption).
There's something about grills I love so much. I love the whole process of cooking your food right in front of you and eating it right off the hot plate!
It was a buffet. Guess who raped the sushi bar.
second plate of sushi. guh, you can never have too much sushi.
We had to take breaks from time to time. SO MUCH FOOD.

We seldom get to meet up so every time we do, everyone's a chatter.

Dessert time! I literally based my choices on how gay the food looked.

Sweet tooth overload!

We totally took advantage of the ice-cream toppings bar.

With Roi and the birthday girl!
KC was sad because her popsicle wrapper fell into the bowl of ice-cream. The food had probably gotten to her head by that time.

Poor KC, she pulled an all-nighter to prepare for an exam she had that morning.
What's up?

Nothing, just getting my nails done.

...which was exactly what happened minutes later. KC dragged my hesitant ass to get a manicure.

even if deep inside I knew I wanted it. haha I LIKE CLEAN NAILS, OKAY (plus it was her treat).

Catching up while drying our nails.
That's something I never thought I say.
Called it a day and drove back to Katipunan at 6 p.m.

We've known each other for about 13 years.
It's amazing how so many things have happened and changed, and yet even if we rarely see each other ever since we moved here and found our own ways, we cross paths and it's like nothing has changed at all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RACHEL!
